Canvas, North Carolina’s Learning Management System (LMS), is your place for one-stop learning and course management. Teachers will become familiar with the features of Canvas, such as the settings, notifications, and a variety of tools in building a course. Participants will learn how to create modules and a variety of items such as discussions, assignments, quizzes, and content pages. Participants will also learn how to develop rubrics to use while grading assignments in SpeedGrader. If you have Canvas and want to use it more effectively, this is the course for you!
This two-hour session will be a webinar to show you how to get started in Canvas. Participants can build in a Canvas course while getting ideas from the instructor and each other. This session will be recorded so participants can rewatch the demonstration.
Make sure you have access to Canvas within your district so that you can create a course. Come with an open mind and be ready to learn! It’s Canvas time! Elizabeth Joyce, the Senior Digital Learning Specialist at NCCAT will be leading this session.

Google Classroom combines all of the Google Apps for Education in one convenient place. Learn how to create lessons online and have a paperless classroom. By using Google Classroom, teachers can manage assignments, communicate with students, and “flip” instruction. Instant feedback is provided, and students’ progress can be tracked to improve performance. Learn how to use Google Classroom to organize your lessons and begin creating assignments using your Google Apps.
