Brain breaks are quick, whole-class activities that give students at any grade level opportunities to pause, move, and interact in safe, structured ways. Research shows that “Movement increases blood flow to the brain which stimulates engagement.” (R.Marzano, 2017) Brain breaks only take a few minutes yet quickly get students back on task. In this 1-hour course, Instructional Assistants will learn multiple ways to assist teachers in keeping students motivated and connected. Carol Douglas will be your facilitator. To obtain your certification of participation, you will need to complete each section of this course. After completion of the course, follow the directions for your personal certificate.
